What is The Metroplex Select Baseball League?

The Metroplex Select Youth Baseball League is a select sports league in Dallas Forth Worth and its surrounding communities. Both boys and girls between the ages 7-12 can participate in the league. We emphasize good sportsmanship, the development of individual skills and the importance of teamwork.

2.	When do signups begin? Registration begins in January.

3.	How do I register to play? You can register online at www.colleyvillecowboys.com and select the baseball tab.

4.	How much does it cost to register my child? It cost $175.00 to play baseball. Fees can be broken up into 2 payments if needed In addition to the required registration fee, a birth certificate is required for all new players.

5.	What provided to players? Each player receives a jersey, baseball pants, socks and hat. Players will need to purchase their own baseball cleats and baseball glove.

6.	When and where do the teams practice? Practices are usually 1 ½ hours long, conducted twice a week and held at a local fields in the area.

7.	Where do we play our games? Each team will play 4 home games at a local field in their area. The 4 away games will be played in the DFW area.

8.	How is the Fall season different from the Spring season? Fall is considered an instructional season, usually has less players and is a shorter season. Spring is more competitive and has an end of season tournament.

9.	What set of rules does Metroplex Select use? Metroplex Select rules for each age group are located on our web site. If you have questions regarding any of the rules, please contact the head coach for clarification.

10.	Who do I call to determine rainout status for games and practices? Parents should contact the Cowboys hotline at 972-745-2978. The hotline will be updated AFTER 3:30 pm on weekdays.

What is the policy in the event of inclement weather conditions during games?

When lightning strikes are detected within 8 miles, games will be immediately stopped and the fields will be evacuated. In the event games are suspended, parents, coaches and players are to immediately go to their vehicles and wait for word as to whether games will be resumed after the inclement weather has passed.
